The pace of inflation slows in September, with prices rising 5.6% year on year

Prices continue to rise in France, but a little less rapidly than in previous months. According to the estimate released by INSEE on Friday, the pace of inflation slowed in September, with a price increase of 5.6% over one year. In August, inflation was 5.9%.

This decline in inflation is due to the “slowdown” in the rise in energy and service prices, explains the National Institute of Statistics in a press release, while food price increases are accelerating and that of manufactured goods continues at a rate close to the previous month.
