The Hebrew media reported that Washington’s final proposal to the representatives of Lebanon and “Israel” regarding the demarcation of the maritime borders is a compromise over the years-long maritime dispute between Beirut and Tel Aviv.
The Hebrew channel I24 stated that “Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid is expected to address the issue in detail at the beginning of the government meeting.”
The channel indicated that “it is expected that the political and security cabinet will meet next Thursday (after Yom Kippur), and approve the agreement.”
Yesterday, Saturday, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, stressed that the Lebanese state is the one that takes the decision it deems appropriate in the country’s interest in demarcating the southern maritime borders.
Nasrallah said that decisive days are ahead in this file, and it will become clear what is the position of state officials and where things are heading.
