TOKYO, October 6 / WAM / Japanese stock indices rose at the close of trading today, to continue their gains for the fourth consecutive session, while Chinese markets are still on holiday on the occasion of the National Day.
The Nikkei index closed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, up by 0.7%, equivalent to 190.77 points, to close at 27311.3 points.
The broader Topix index rose 0.5%, equivalent to 9.55 points, to close at 1922.47 points.
