Yesterday, the dollar exchange rate on the black market crossed the threshold of 40,000 pounds, for the first time in Lebanon’s history.
According to Lebanese news websites, the dollar exchange rate ranged, yesterday morning, between 39 thousand and 950 pounds and 40 thousand and 50 pounds.
The official price of the dollar is 1,507 Lebanese pounds.
The website pointed out that this is an expected scenario, in light of the political differences that have prevented until now the formation of the government, and the absence of reform measures and rescue programs on the part of the official authorities.
