Wide receiver Tyreek Hill has opened up regarding the circumstances that led to his transfer from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins.
“There were many moments during the year when we felt that Tyreek was underused and not fully appreciated and that they really didn’t take full advantage of all of his skills and talent,” said Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus on the It Needed To Be Said podcast.
Hill pointed out that the inconsistency in goals throughout the season was one of the many factors that contributed to his departure from Kansas City.
“If teams are giving us advantageous one-on-ones, I don’t understand why teams aren’t using their best receiver,” Hill said.
“Tyreek wanted to be there,” Rosenhaus added. “Tyreek wanted to be in Kansas City. We tried to do an extension with them.”
The former fifth-round pick says he was willing to return to the Chiefs on a contract that calls for an average annual salary of $25 million to $26 million, but the Chiefs were unwilling to negotiate anywhere near those numbers.
