Al-Marsad Newspaper: The lifestyle doctor, Dr. Ammar Tankel, answered the question, “Are farmed fish polluted and cause cancer?”.
Tinkal said, during his appearance on the “Sayidaty” program, “Reports appeared that indicated that there are used feeds, such as soy oil, and animal waste in feeding fish in some countries.”
He continued, “It was found that there is a link between contaminated farmed fish and some types of chronic diseases, but not with cancer in particular.”
He concluded: “But in Saudi Arabia, there is an official body that evaluates farmed fish, and there are specifications and standards for it, and a certificate is issued for it, which helps the consumer to know the ideal type of farmed fish.”
