The trophy did not fall in the wind; Williamson in handshake

Wellington: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson grabbed the trophy that would have fallen in the wind. India’s Hardik Pandya and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson were posing for a photo with the T20 series winner’s trophy when the wind came unexpectedly. The board on which the cup was placed shook, followed by the trophy.

But Williamson grabbed his hand before falling. There was also a laughing comment saying ‘I want the trophy’. Hardik Pandya was also laughing. The series consists of three T20Is and ODIs each. The first T20 is in Wellington on Friday. Reports are also coming out that rain may play a role in the match.

Meanwhile, India’s first training session ahead of the series has been completed. When players including Sanju Samson came out for training, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant was the most noticeable. Coach VVS Laxman spent a lot of time in the nets with Rishabh in poor form. Pant was a huge failure in T20 World Cup. Ball was not able to capitalize on any opportunities.

The Indian team, led by Hardik Pandya, practiced for three hours. BCCI shared the pictures of this in mass media. In the absence of head coach Rahul Dravid, India is coached by National Cricket Academy head VVS Laxman. Along with the senior players, Dravid was also allowed rest.
