Woman climbs Mayan pyramid and dances; Encircled and attacked by the crowd

People attacked a young woman who danced illegally inside the Mayan pyramid recognized by UNESCO as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A young woman named Abigail, a native of Mexico, was the victim of the attack.

Locals say that the woman’s behavior in the historically important area is provocative. The footage captured by some of the tourists has been released through social media. Authorities have already banned tourists from entering the Mayan pyramids.

When she started climbing the stairs, the visitors stopped the young woman. But Abigail was moving forward regardless. After reaching the top, when the dance started, the security personnel came and brought the young lady down. The mob then attacked them. People gathered around with obscenities poured water on the body and pulled the hair. Those gathered around demanded that the young woman who deliberately broke the law should be given jail sentence. The woman is a native of Mexico. After being detained at the police station for half an hour, they were released following imposing a fine of 260 dollars.

The Mayan pyramid was found to be a temple built between the 8th and 12th centuries. It was banned in 2008 when a traveler fell to his death while climbing the pyramid.
