Two responders from the Arthabaska Humane Society of Arthabaska (SPAA), accompanied by firefighters from Victoriaville, undertook, Friday morning, to recover from the Beaudet reservoir the many dead geese, birds obviously infected with the flu. avian.

The recovery operation began around 7:30 a.m. “Two firefighters are accompanying two people from the SPAA. We drive them on the waters with our boats. These employees retrieve geese when possible. But if you have to go on the water, it’s the suitably dressed firefighters who do the job,” explained operations captain Yan Fournier.

By 2:30 p.m., some 150 geese had been recovered. Work was to continue until 4 p.m. before dark.

In total, there were regarding 200 snow goose carcasses.
