Al-Marsad Newspaper – SPA: The Public Transport Authority announced that small cars whose axle distance is between (2.60m) and (2.70m) are allowed to operate in passenger transport applications, provided that their operational life does not exceed (5) years from the year of manufacture. And extending the permit period for cars whose axle distance exceeds (2.70 m) and whose operational life does not exceed (7) years from the year of manufacture, to work in the activity of passenger transport applications, until the end of the calendar year 2023 AD, provided that the licensed companies add a special classification for cars. and clarifying the maximum number of passengers in the vehicle, and the commitment not to allow these vehicles to operate at airports and between cities.
She explained that this comes with the aim of providing more transportation options for beneficiaries, enhancing service availability and ensuring speed of response, as well as supporting drivers working in passenger transportation applications in the Kingdom.
The authority is working continuously to raise the quality of service provided in passenger transportation applications, and to ensure that these services reach beneficiaries in a way that meets their aspirations and meets the required safety standards and requirements.
