Dharna by indigenous women in Kuwait demanding teaching jobs

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

Kuwait City | A group of women staged a dharna in front of the country’s education ministry. Young women with English language degrees came with the protest. The protest was held with placards demanding that they be given jobs as teachers. The news was reported by the local media.

The young women have graduated from Kuwait University’s College of Arts and other private universities in the country. They alleged that their applications were rejected on the grounds that they failed in the interviews and tests for the job selection.

The protestors demanded that they be guaranteed jobs and that the Education Minister should immediately intervene in the matter.
