The Mets and the Venezuelan catcher Omar Narvaez have reached a one-season deal, a source told MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo. The team has not confirmed the deal, which includes an option for 2024.
The 30-year-old Narváez played the past three seasons with the Brewers and in 2022 posted a .206/.292/.305 offensive line in 84 games. He was named to the 2021 All-Star Game, when he hit .266 with 11 homers, 49 RBIs and a .743 OPS.
In his seven-year career, Narváez is hitting .258/.343./.386 with the Brewers, Mariners and White Sox.
