Ukrainian army chief Valery Zaluzhny said today that Russia will try again to take the capital kyiv after the previous assault was repulsed earlier this year. In an interview with The Economist, Zaluzhny said he is trying to prepare for a new attempt by Russian forces to take the city, perhaps in February or March.
As for the Russian mobilization of 300,000 reservists and former soldiers, for the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “maybe they are not so well equipped, but they still represent a problem for us. We calculate that they have a reserve of 1.2- 1.5 million people”
And he continued: “The Russians are preparing some 200,000 new soldiers. I have no doubt that they will make another attempt at kyiv.”
