Nikkei Asia magazine reported that Apple Inc. to produce MacBooks in Vietnam next year
Apple will shift some of its production from China to Vietnam. Amid trade tensions between the US and China and supply chain problems in China due to lockdown measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Nikkei Asia reported that Foxcon may begin production of MacBooks in Vietnam as early as May 2023. Apple reportedly held talks in August to move production of the Apple Watch, MacBook and HomePod to Vietnam.
The report states that Apple produces 20-24 million MacBooks per year.
