Orban on Qatargate: “Let’s abolish the European Parliament”

“Our solution: to create a new European Parliament, composed of national delegates”, wrote the Hungarian Prime Minister on Twitter

The recent scandal in the European Parliament reveals how “anti-corruption safeguards” have “failed miserably”. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote on Twitter, proposing the abolition of the European Parliament “to restore public confidence”.

“Our solution: to create a new European Parliament, made up of national delegates. This would ensure increased oversight, accountability and credibility. Let’s give control back to the Member States! Orban added.
