South Carolina Supreme Court ruling setback for anti-abortion movement

For the first time since the U.S. federal Supreme Court ruled last year to overturn women’s constitutional right to abortion, a state Supreme Court has ruled that the local constitution does guarantee residents that right. The decision is a major setback for abortion opponents.
