Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper wasn’t proud of his team’s performance Friday night following a 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

The pilot underlined in bold the lack of discipline of his people. The Manitoba squad scored two of its successes while playing with two more skaters on the ice surface.
“It’s a total lack of discipline,” Cooper said at a press conference. It’s embarrassing what we did. How many five-on-threes does a team allow in a season? We can count them on one hand, and we gave them two and a half minutes of five-on-three in one game. This is unacceptable.”
“That shouldn’t happen,” he continued. Good for Winnipeg. Honestly, it was really a draw. This game might have been a 0-0 and then decided in a penalty shootout. They [les Jets] remained disciplined. They were like, “Let’s sit down and wait for Tampa to shoot itself in the foot.” We did it.”
Asked if he had found this match “intense”, the head coach of the “Bolts” replied with a laugh.
“Honestly, I didn’t find this part to be intense. Tell me what happened besides the fact that we took penalties and we gave them chances.
Cooper’s men will try to learn from their mistakes and get back to winning ways on Tuesday night, when the Columbus Blue Jackets will be at Amalie Arena.
