Ameerah leaves LA for ‘Eurosong 2023’ for a while: “Believe me, Jennifer Lopez is really a very sweet woman”

“For a long time I thought I was too old for a comeback.” But Ameerah (39) – the stage name of Astrid Roelants – takes her chance. With her songs ‘Armageddon’ and ‘The Carnival’ she wants to convince Flanders to send her to the Eurovision Song Contest. And for that she commutes between our country and LA, where she went to make it following her participation in ‘Idol 2003’. It didn’t always run smoothly, though. “Because of that feud with my record company, I mightn’t release my own music for years.”
