The National Center for Mental Health Promotion announced the results of the mental health index in the Kingdom for the year 2022 AD, which shows a decrease in the prevalence of depressive symptoms, in which the percentage reached (12.7%) compared to 2020, which amounted to (13.8%).
وأوضح المركز أن معدل خطورة الإصابة بالاكتئاب أعلى لدى الفئة العمرية أكثر من 60 سنة مع احتمالية أعلى للإصابة لدى الإناث، وتزيد معدلات خطورة الإصابة في حال كان الدخل أقل عن 5 آلاف ريال، بالإضافة أن أعراض الاكتئاب تكون أعلى بنسبة طفيفة لدى غير المتزوجين، وتزيد احتمالية الإصابة لدى الأشخاص الذين لا يمارسون نشاطًا بدنيًا، ويعاني الأشخاص أصحاب الأوزان الأقل من المعدلات الطبيعية من أعراض اكتئاب أشد من غيرهم، ومن المثير للاهتمام ارتباط التطوع بتخفيف أعراض الاكتئاب ويزيد التدخين من معدلات خطورة الإصابة به.
And the center stated that the index shows a significant decrease in symptoms of anxiety among those who practice voluntary work or daily hobbies, and smoking was associated with higher rates of anxiety than non-smokers, indicating that the index and through comparison with the countries of the world that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – thank God – achieves lower levels in prevalence rates.
