Nigeria’s Access Holdings flip-flops on acquisition of Sidan Bank in Kenya

Access Holdings, a Nigerian financial services group, announced on Thursday January 12 at the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) that it had abandoned its project to acquire all the shares (83.4%) of Centum, a public investment company in Sidian Bank Ltd in Kenya. In its statement, the holding company said that the two parties had not reached an agreement on certain conditions. Despite the failure of the negotiations, the bank stressed that the competent Kenyan authorities (regulators) have shown their commitment to the success of this transaction.
