After Kevin Durant this morning, another All-Star holder is forced to forfeit the all-star game scheduled for next Sunday. Zion Williamson will therefore miss the fiesta and will be re-evaluated out of All-Star Break, Playoffs objective for the Pels, we are not here to fool around.
He had been acclaimed by the public and was to be part of the holders of the West at the next All-Star Game, along with LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry and Luka Doncic. The leader of the Warriors is injured and most likely forfeited and the interior of the Pels is therefore also, which will give rise to two last minute invitations because as you know, the misfortune of some is the happiness of others.

First domino concerning Zion? We will therefore have to find a replacement for him among the reserves, and Domantas Sabonis has a good face as a favorite even if you are an editor and not a bookmaker. Afterwards ? We will have to get two snubbed to replace the two absentees (Curry and Zion therefore) and if Ja Morant should take Curry’s place in the five we can well imagine De’Aaron Fox and… Anthony Edwards making the trip to Utahunless the NBA rather sets its sights on Anthony Davis or Devin Booker, or even a second Nuggets player to validate the magnificent season of the Denver franchise.
For Zion Williamson the decision is probably very well thought out because 1) we are still talking about a very sensitive file and 2) the Pelicans have proven since the start of the season that the ambitions in Louisiana are legitimate. Indeed, if at the beginning of the season it was rather Zion Williamson who played the road captains of the merry band of birds, later CJ McCollum took over and Brandon Ingram followed in his footsteps since his return to make NOLA a very serious team in the West and that few teams will want to play in the Playoffs.
