Ehrbar hall shines in new splendor – music

Friedrich Ehrbar, who was born in Hildesheim, came to Vienna as part of his journeyman’s journey – and stayed. In 1876 he had a representative palace with a pyramid roof and associated concert hall built at Mühlgasse 28-30. “He bought a piano factory and advanced to become a celebrated piano producer and KuK court piano manufacturer”, says Cathrin Chytil and leads through the entrance area, which is furnished with red marble, elegant columns and magnificent stucco. A large, white double door leads into the newly restored foyer.
