“Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: The artist, Sherine Abdel-Wahhab, escalated her crisis with the Rotana company, following she demanded a refund of ten million pounds due to her failure to comply with the terms of the contract between them.
Sherine issued a warning to the company, accusing her of exploiting her voice in all the ways heard in two albums, stressing that she has the right to terminate the contract without any responsibility on her. Because the contract included in its eighth clause that the period of suspension of execution does not exceed six months, and if there is no opportunity for implementation following this period, either party has the right to terminate the contract without liability on the part of the other party.
The lawyer of the artist, Sherine Abdel-Wahhab, had revealed the details of her legal dispute with the Rotana Audio and Video Company, during televised statements, where he said: “The Rotana company filed a case once morest Sherine because of two items. The second is that some of the songs were released on the market and were not given to Rotana. Unfortunately, the songs were leaked without Sherine’s knowledge, and she is not responsible for this leak, and she did not receive a penny from the company that leaked these songs.
And he continued: “We entered the company responsible for this imbalance and asked it to provide any document stating that Sherine Abdel Wahhab contracted with her or that she received any money from them for the price of those songs,” explaining: “Sherine’s position is very good and she is keen to confirm her respect for Rotana and that she is seeking the absence of a rivalry between it and any company, especially Rotana.”
