Two years ago, ClearSpace won a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) for a first mission to eliminate space debris. This Tuesday, the young shoot born in 2018 at EPFL announced the validation of the first phase of its ClearSpace-1 program by the organization. Its robotic satellite concept, with four arms, successfully passed a test in the Netherlands in October 2022. A month later, ESA and the countries participating in the project agreed to fully fund the next phase of development during of the agency’s Ministerial Council.
