The Municipality of La Florida assured that several municipalities in the country could replicate the plan to demolish the so-called “narco-houses.” One of them would be Antofagasta, whose mayor came to the capital to see the procedure.
The mayor of antofagastaJonathan Velásquez, referred this Friday to whether his commune could imitate the demolition plan of the so-called “narco-houses”as it is being developed by the Florida Municipality.
The communal chief came to said commune in the southeast area of the capital, to know first hand the initiative promoted by his colleague Rodolfo Carter.
Velásquez went to Santa Amalia 533, where demolition work is still underway on a house that belongs to a woman who is in preventive prison.
The community chief pointed out that it is a good idea, so something similar could be done in his city, prior consultation with its inhabitants.
The mayor(s) of La Florida, Daniel Reyes, indicated that the demolition plan is evaluated positively and that there are several municipalities those who look on sympathetically replicate it.
The plan is not to demolish all the houses, but to demolish home additions that were not regularized and that belong to those involved in drug trafficking crimes.
