No more appointing a vice-captain; Ravi Shastri to Rohit and Dravid

The Indian cricket team continues its winning streak in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After winning the first Test innings by 132 runs, the Indian team won the second Test by six wickets.

The Indian team was bowled out for 262 runs against the Aussies who batted first and were dismissed for 263 runs in the first innings.

After that, the victory of the Indian team became easy when they managed to restrict the Aussies to 113 runs in the second innings.

The Indian team set out with a target of 115 runs and crossed the target with six wickets remaining.

Captain Rohit Sharma who scored 31 runs and Cheteshwar Pujara who remained unbeaten with 31 runs, the Indian team overcame the victory target.

But with the defeat in the tournament and previous matches, KL Rahul, who was the vice-captain of the Indian team in the first two Tests, lost the co-captain position in the team.

Despite losing the vice-captaincy position, Rahul has made it to the next two Tests.
But now former Indian player and coach Ravi Shastri has come forward asking captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid not to appoint anyone as vice-captain in the remaining two matches of the series.

“I believe the team management is watching Rahul’s performance very closely. He is not in good form. I don’t know if he gets enough space to play. Gill can be included in the team as Rahul’s replacement.

I am of the opinion that the Indian team should never include a vice-captain in this series again. If the captain has to leave the field, let him replace him with any player,’ said Shastri.

Meanwhile, Team India can win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy if they draw in one of the remaining two matches of the series.
The team can play the final of the World Test Championship only if they win the series.
