The US government is speeding up the planned ban on the Chinese video platform TikTok. After a bipartisan bill was introduced into Congress by a dozen senators on Tuesday, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said, “We look forward to continuing to work with Democrats and Republicans on this bill and urge Congress to act swiftly. ” The law is intended to give Trade Minister Gina Raimondo the power to ban TikTok and similar foreign providers due to security risks.
