Nehammer sees no evidence of “apocalypse” and wants a country of owners – ÖVP

What will or should Austria look like by 2030? In his almost one and a half hour “Speech on the Future of the Nation”, Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) outlined his version of it on Friday followingnoon. “It is actually a special time when we meet,” says Nehammer at the beginning, referring to the pandemic, the Ukraine war and the energy crisis. “All these crises have one thing in common, they are characterized by fear.” But it has also shown that we can overcome crises and find solutions. At the same time, this situation also showed “that we made the impossible possible”.
