Lisa Marie Presley’s mother and daughters are fighting over her inheritance. The singer, the only daughter of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, passed away nearly three months ago, leaving behind a trust that includes the Graceland property and 15% of Elvis’s estate. Michael Lockwood, her ex-husband and father of her twin girls Finley and Harper Vivienne, filed legal papers to represent the girls’ interests at the hearing on the matter.
According to “TMZ,” Lockwood is asking a judge to call him an assigned guardian and give him authority to speak for his 14-year-old daughters in the case.
The trust would have “received” a large amount of money, following the death of Priscilla’s daughter, who lost her life following a cardiac arrest.
In addition, Lisa had two life insurance policies, one for $25 million and the other for $10 million, the portal details.
Sources close to the family shared that there is “drama” over the decision of who will manage the trust.
Although Priscilla was the trustee, Lisa kicked her out of it several years earlier and appointed her oldest daughter Riley as trustee.
“Our sources tell us that Priscilla is going to challenge the validity of the trust, stating that the change in trustees was not done correctly. Riley, we’re told, doesn’t want Priscilla to take the reins and this sparked a family battle,” TMZ reported.
The twins are also among the beneficiaries, which might lead to the lawsuit between both parties.
It is worth mentioning that Presley and Lockwood divorced in 2016 following 10 years of marriage. Their separation was apparently contentious and lasted for several years over custody of the girls, in the midst of which there were accusations of financial and sexual abuse.
