Austria right in the middle of Europe’s security policy, and yet not quite there – internationally

One might almost feel sorry for Klaudia Tanner. The Austrian Defense Minister wanted to fly from Vienna to Stockholm at noon on Tuesday of this week. An informal meeting of EU ministers began there in the evening, to which the Swedish Presidency had invited everyone who had something to say militarily in Europe regarding the war in Ukraine. Tanner wanted to be there. However, it initially failed because of the transport capacity.
