the new microphone made for streamers and podcasters

Sennheiser has announced a new microphone designed with a focus on podcasts. Although the Sennheiser MK4 already exists, there was still no product that was exactly aimed at the public that creates content for platforms such as Spotify and YouTube. Now the German manufacturer of audio equipment has revealed the Sennheiser Profile, a USB microphone similar to the Blue Yeti, the Rode NT-USB and the HyperX Quadcast, evaluated by Oficina da Net.

The Sennheiser Profile is a cardioid condenser USB microphone designed for those looking for something with a neutral sound, but with a slight boost in the high-mids and highs, giving podcasters and streamers greater clarity. The user can control directly on the device the settings for gain, mute, headphone output volume and a balance control between voice and computer audio.

Sennheiser Product Managers Benny Franke and Dennis Stegemerten, responsible for the Profile microphone project, said:

When you’re recording your podcast or going live, you already have to worry about the content, maybe room treatment, camera setup, audience interaction – the last thing you need in that situation is a set of -up complex audio. So we try to create technology that gets out of the way of your creative process.

The design is simple and efficient and doesn’t overwhelm you. The profile simply plugs into your computer or tablet’s USB-C port – your device will automatically recognize the microphone and be ready to capture your voice. There’s no need for an interface or any software, no additional windows to keep open so you can control microphone settings. An intuitive touch of a control directly on the microphone – that’s all it takes.

According to Benny Franke, the Sennheiser Profile offers a natural and warm sound, capable of highlighting the body, the presence of the voice. Furthermore, he says that you can hear this difference even on platforms that compress the audio.

The structure of Sennheiser’s new microphone for streamers and podcasters allows use with a table stand or an articulated arm. This way, there is good flexibility for the user to choose the best way to capture the audio at the recording location.

Launch and availability

The Sennheiser Profile microphone has already been launched in the US and retails for US$ 130. For the time being, there is still no release date or price for the product in Brazil. Stay tuned for more information!
