World championship leader Max Verstappen took pole at the Australian Grand Prix. The Dutchman will share the front row with Briton George Russell.
This is the second pole of the season for the Dutchman after that won in Bahrain during the inaugural GP. During qualifying, Max Verstappen beat the two Mercedes of the British George Russell (2nd) and Lewis Hamilton (3rd).
Perez in last position
Winner of the last Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, a fortnight ago, Sergio Perez will start in 20th and last position on the grid on Sunday. The Mexican made a mistake on his first flying lap, ending his race in the gravel.
