The technology company for industry management, Nomus, launched a platform for free courses, the Nomus University, aimed at managers, employees in the industrial environment and university students across the country. It provides training, lectures and other materials on factory management, focusing mainly on production-related issues.
Among the topics addressed in the available content are “PCP in the manufacture of machinery and equipment”, “Building the engineering of its products” and the webinar “8 Essential Controls of the Lucrative Industry”. The Management of Production in Practice (GPP) is also hosted at Nomus University, a free program developed in partnership with universities across the country that aims at teaching undergraduate students and technical courses so that concepts seen in the classroom can be practiced within an ERP system by simulating the routines of an industry.
By participating in the GPP program, the student receives a lecture by an expert on how knowledge in ERP can enhance their career, access to the corporate university for training and access to Industrial ERP software during the period of one academic semester. Day-to-day activities at a factory are carried out, supervised by the partner professor, such as issuing production orders, creating product engineering and moving stock, among others.
For the person responsible for controlling the platform, Adriana Mariano, the Nomus University initiative aims to simplify technical concepts that are often seen only in theory or in objective language regarding the management of the transformation process in industries. “It is an area with demand for people’s qualification, but there is a variety of superficial content or that show an impractical angle of application of complex concepts, and this makes learning difficult. We seek to facilitate the understanding of those who seek to update themselves or learn more regarding the daily life of a factory through topics that are closer to reality”, she commented.
Those interested in receiving access to training available at the corporate university must send a request to the email [email protected] and, subsequently, they will receive feedback with their individual login.
