PITTSBURGH – The White Sox sent Venezuelan pitcher José Ruiz to the Diamondbacks in exchange for money.
Ruiz, 28, was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Friday. The right-hander has given up nine runs and eight hits with four walks and three strikeouts in four relief appearances (3.2 EL) this season, his sixth with Chicago.
