The Intercantonal Literature Commission of the canton of Bern and Jura (CiLi) awards the Fell-Doriot scholarship for writing assistance to Augustin Rebetez. The artist presents a project anchored in the Jura region, the world of art, gastronomy and urbanity.
Known for his multimodal installations, the citizen of Mervelier places his production at the crossroads of genres, the cantons of Jura and Bern said on Wednesday. For many years already, writing has occupied an important part, whether it be slogans, manifestos or poems.
At the same time, Augustin Rebetez writes autonomous texts and carries out an activity as a publisher with his “Label Rapace” structure, specifies the press release. The scholarship, endowed with 15,000 francs, is intended to support literary writing in the genre of chronicle and short story.
Due to a lack of applications, the CiLi was unable to award the Fell-Doriot research grant. For the record, it was awarded in 2020 to the Jura Dictionary online. Fell-Doriot Writing and Research Grants are awarded every two years.
The two scholarships come from the Fund for Jura Letters, from the testamentary legacy of Jeanne Fell-Doriot, wife of René Fell. /ats-jad
