What an incredible tragedy.
The daughter of NFLTampa Bay Buccaneers star Shaquil Barrett, 30, drowned in the pool at the family’s home in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday, shortly following her second birthday.
According to police, Arrayah was taken to a hospital around 9:30 a.m. (local time) on Sunday morning. Rescuers were previously alerted to the house because a child had fallen into the water. Despite life-saving measures, the two-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Barrett football team also confirmed the accident: “Today’s tragic news is heartbreaking for all members of the Buccaneers family.”
He continued: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna and the entire Barrett family at this incredibly difficult time. While no words can offer real comfort at such a time, we offer them our support and love.”

It is still unclear how the accident might have happened. “The investigation is ongoing,” the police report said. However, there is no indication of a crime, it is assumed that it was a “purely coincidental and tragic incident”.
Shaquil Barrett has not yet commented.
