In the municipal area of Wals there was a traffic accident with one injured person on Sunday evening. For an unknown reason, a 24-year-old driver of a car who was driving out of town came into the area of oncoming traffic. An oncoming 22-year-old car driver tried unsuccessfully to avoid a collision by bringing his vehicle to a standstill on the extreme right-hand side of the lane. There was a head-on collision between the two vehicles. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy, and the car that caused the accident was a total loss. The oncoming driver was uninjured, while the accident driver was injured in the collision. An alcohol test in the 24-year-old gave a relevant measurement result of 0.94 mg/l (1.88 per mil). Her driver’s license was taken away and she faces multiple charges, police said.
