Jeddah, May 24 / WAM / Tomorrow, our national beach soccer team will face its brother Oman, while Iran will meet Thailand in the quarter-final matches of the Asian qualifiers for the World Beach Games in its second edition, which will be held on the island of Bali, Indonesia, in August 2023.
Six teams, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Iran, Oman and Thailand, will participate in the qualifiers that will be hosted by the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from May 25 to 27.
The two winning teams from tomorrow’s matches will qualify for the semi-finals, to face Saudi Arabia and Japan, “the direct qualifiers for this round”, which is scheduled to be held on Friday.
The final match will be held next Saturday, with the winning and losing teams qualifying for the World Beach Games, which will start next August, along with Indonesia, the host country, and will represent Asia in the World Beach Games.
Our national team had recently won fourth place in the 2023 AFC Beach Soccer Championship, which was held last March in Pattaya, Thailand, followed by its participation this May in the Arab Beach Soccer Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, during which it qualified for the quarter-finals after achieving Three consecutive victories placed him at the top of Group C with 9 points.
