A two-year-old girl tragically died on Friday followingnoon following being sucked into a grain mixer on a family farm in Saint-Lin-Laurentides.

“The relatives did everything to quickly get her out of there following she fell in… The death was unfortunately observed on the spot. There are no traces of crime or negligence in this case for the moment, ”confirms Sergeant Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The body of the young girl will also be taken to the Laboratory of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine (LSJML) for an autopsy. The goal will be to confirm the exact cause of death, says the SQ.
Ongoing investigation
A call was first made to 911, around 3:30 p.m., for this tragedy that occurred on Côte Joseph Road.
“As is the case with the death of any child under the age of 6, major crime investigators went to the scene,” explains Sergeant Bilodeau.

She adds that at least one relative of the victim in shock was taken by ambulance to a hospital following the accident.
