A member of the “Strong Lebanon” bloc, MP Cesar Abi Khalil, affirmed the unity of the “Strong Lebanon” decision, pointing out that “commitment to the bloc’s decision is absolute, and there is no division or even a distribution of votes between two candidates, and everything that is said is just media confusion.”
In an interview with the electronic “al-Anbaa”, Abi Khalil responded to the negative atmosphere emanating from the Shiite duo in terms of considering Azour as a challenger, and asked: “Wasn’t their support for Suleiman Franjieh, who does not enjoy the support of the majority of Christian blocs, a challenge?”
He stressed that “Azaour’s candidacy does not aim at defiance or confrontation.”
