Sol : India got off to a flying start by winning three medals, including two golds, on the first day of the 2023 Asian U-20 Athletics Championships in Yecheon, South Korea.
Rezona Mallik Heena wins gold in women’s 400m and Bharatpreet Singh in men’s discus throw
Heena won first place in women’s 400m with a time of 53.31 seconds.
Having won the U-18 Asian Athletics Championship title earlier this year, Heena is now the 400m Asian champion in the U-18 and U-20 categories.
Bharatpreet Singh won the gold in the discus throw field with a distance of 55.66 meters.
Antima Pal won bronze for India in the women’s 5,000m race with a time of 17 minutes and 17.11 seconds.
