Ajman, June 13, WAM/ The Department of Economic Development in Ajman, in cooperation with the Manisa Company for Intellectual Property and Rights Management, organized an awareness workshop on commercial fraud, mechanisms for dealing with cases of commercial fraud and counterfeiting, and ways to combat them.
The workshop, which was organized at the Ajman Saray Hotel, was attended by representatives of the Municipality and Planning Department, the Port and Customs Department, the Free Zones Authority and the Ajman Police General Command.
The workshop dealt with the importance of enabling sound commercial practices, defining commercial fraud and ways to combat it, in addition to the important role of the private sector in supporting efforts to address harmful commercial practices, promoting fair competition between companies, and maintaining product standards and quality provided to consumers.
The workshop also included a detailed presentation of the investigative process and the legal procedures used to combat commercial fraud, in addition to a review of the tools and techniques available to detect such practices, including advanced techniques in the field of digital programs and identification of original trademarks.
The department stated that the implementation of such workshops with partners is an affirmation of continued cooperation and joint efforts to protect the local market and ensure the protection of consumers. intellectual property in the emirate.
