BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) — China’s light-duty vehicle sales rose 4.3 percent year on year in May as the country’s consumer promotion policies boosted demand growth, according to industry data.
A total of 46,000 units were sold last month, up 7.2 percent year on year, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
During the January-May period, sales of light commercial vehicles reached 209,000 units, while exports of these vehicles increased by 74% on an annual basis to reach 11,500 units.
Strong growth in overseas demand has led to the continued growth of China’s light-duty vehicle exports, the association said. END
