Swiss Rider Elian Baumann’s Retirement Announcement: Celebrating Campari’s Victorious Journey

A few days ago, the Swiss rider Elian Baumann announced on social networks the retirement of his faithful companion Campari (Z, Contact van de Heffinck x Platini M), aged sixteen. The partnership between the gelding and her rider has lasted more than eight years and has been crowned with great victories, including a team gold medal at the European Championships in Riesenbeck, Germany, in 2021. The couple had also illustrated in 2018 by winning a 1.50m class at the CSI 4*-W in El Jadida, Morocco, before also winning a Grand Prix at 1.50m at the CSI 3* in Gorla Minore, Italy, in 2021 , or even pocketing third place in a 1.50m class at the CSI 5* in Ascona, Switzerland, last year. “You are the horse of my life”wrote the Swiss on social networks. “Our journey began over eight years ago and I will forever cherish the memories we created together.
