Zambia’s creditors have agreed to a restructuring of its public debt, a French government source announced Thursday on the sidelines of an international summit in Paris, where the main lenders of the African country are present. “Today there is an agreement” to restructure $ 6.3 billion in debt, this source said, more than two years after the country defaulted in 2020. Negotiations have so far stalled over differences between Western and Chinese creditors.
