Journalist and political writer Johnny Mounir indicated, “Emmanuel Macron sent Jean-Yves Le Drian to Beirut to say that he will remain the international agent in Lebanon.”

In an interview with Al-Jadeed, Mounir said: “Changes in the region necessitate stability in Lebanon, and any Lebanese president must be ‘friends’ with the Americans, just as he will not be in a quarrel with Hezbollah.”

He added, “The direction of the third solution has begun to crystallize, and what it means for the power structure in Lebanon to be with this solution.”

He pointed out that, “One of the formulas that was proposed and is still being whispered is that we go to a third option for the presidency that enjoys the non-objection of all, and the army commander, Joseph Aoun, is one of this option, and with him Tammam Salam to head the government.”
