China’s Producer Price Deflation Deepens in June Amid Post-COVID Economic Slowdown

BEIJING, July 10 (Archyde.com) – China’s producer price deflation deepened in June, at a faster pace than expected, as consumer prices remained stable, official data showed on Monday. , in a context of post-COVID economic slowdown which weighed on demand.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (BNS), the producer price index fell in June for a ninth consecutive month, by 5.4% year on year, following -4.6% in May . The consensus was -5.0%.

Consumer prices remained stable on an annual basis last month, once morest a rise of 0.2% in May. Analysts polled by Archyde.com on average expected a further increase of 0.2%.
