In order to reduce dependencies on Asian supplier countries and American companies, the EU intends to rely more on chips made in Europe in the future. With the European Chips Act, which cleared the hurdles in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday following two years of preparatory work, the legal framework for strengthening the European semiconductor industry in international competition is now in place. It is now up to each member country to get involved as quickly as possible. A summit was held in the Federal Chancellery on Thursday.
