Firefighters from the Vesdre Hoëgne & Plateau rescue zone as well as those from the German-speaking community once once more intervened on Saturday for a fire in the Fagnes, between Baelen and Eupen.
According to the emergency services, this outbreak of fire was due to the carelessness of visitors who had a barbecue on Friday evening. The wind this Saturday revived the flames, say the firefighters.
The fire was quickly brought under control and the damage limited to a hundred square meters.
If the extent of the disaster is limited, the firemen remind us of the ban on making fires which is in force.
