Nearly 600 people climbed the slopes of the Villarrica volcano to practice snow sports. The trail was kept in good condition and generally clear.

But the uncertainty is over and the Pillán Mountain Center was able to have its first winter day this Saturday (in fact, a historic event for the local tourism industry). The mountain center opened with two chair lifts and one drag lift. In addition to that, it offers restaurant services, ski and snowboard schools, a shop and equipment rental, among other things. Andacor obtained the tender for 286 hectares on the slopes of the Villarrica volcano with the aim of establishing a mountain tourist center that works both in winter and in summer. It opened at the beginning of January as a summer offer; then it closed in March to prepare for the winter. In fact, this is the first winter that the concession will operate, since the previous winter season Pillán remained closed to adapt and renew the infrastructure. Depending on the snow, the mountain center might be open until following the National Holidays. Ideally until October.
